 Inquire: Fairforest Elementary School School Librarian: Elizabeth Lies      Elizabeth Lies is the certified school librarian at Fairforest Elementary School, which is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) school in the upstate of South Carolina. This school is also a Title I school. Lies implements the learner competencies of the shared foundation of Inquire within the school library. One way Lies implements these competencies is through teaching research and digital citizenship skills. Lies instructs and encourages students to safely research and provides students with safe websites to use.       The school library's schedule is fixed, which makes it difficult to find time for collaboration and planning.  Explore: Wright Elementary School Library Librarian: Jana Davis      Jana Davis is a certified school librarian working at Wright Elementary School, located in a rural town in upstate South Carolina. Jana instills explore competencies in her school library daily by providing a wide variety of resources to students in a variety of formats to support curriculum as well as student curiosity and personal interests. Having a flexible schedule allows students ample time to peruse print material. Digital material is available to them at all times. Students are also given choices for activities in the library like projects, library centers, and choice boards. Inclusion in the Mathews Elementary School Library

 Inclusion in the Mathews Elementary School Library Beth Beale - School Librarian      At Mathews Elementary School, 51.4% of the student population are African American, 27.2% are White, 18.5% are Hispanic, and 2.3% are Multiracial. 100% of the students are on free or reduced lunch (Niche, n.d.). Niche.com states: "According to state test scores, 36% of students are at least proficient in math and 36% in reading" (n.d.). Beale and a first grade teacher reported an increase in reading scores over the past two years. The scores have improved so noticeably that teachers from other districts are coming to observe ELA lessons being taught at Mathews to implement them in their own district.  Collaboration in The D.W. Daniel High School Library Interview with Lexi Somerville Travis - Media Specialist      Lexi Somerville-Travis is a certified school librarian working at D.W. Daniel High School. Travis works hard to provide and promote collaborative efforts to all teachers at D.W. Daniel High School. Some of the ways in which she is implementing these competencies is to approach and email teachers about student assignments. Often times this leads to discussion about her role and how she can help in the making and facilitation of assignments.
